What are you seeking?

Learning new topics is interesting, but if what we learn is not incorporated into a dynamic walk with Christ, we end up just knowledge. If you want to take your faith to the next level... this experience is for you!

Discipleship

“Being a disciple means being constantly ready to bring the love of Jesus to others, and this can happen unexpectedly and in any place: on the street, in a city square, during work, on a journey.” ~ Pope Francis

For the past 10 years, the CI has been offering many classes about the Catholic faith; now it’s time to bring it all together in a celebration of learning, growing, and practicing. The CI: School of Discipleship invites anyone looking to grow in their relationship with the Lord to an 8-part experience this fall!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to be a graduate of the CI to attend?

The quick answer is "no" and the more detailed answer is: If you have gone through the CI and ever asked, "What next?"—this experience is for you. If you have not gone through the CI but are interested in taking your faith to the next level—this experience is for you. If you want to truly walk with Christ—this experience is for you! (Participants must be 18 years of age or older.)

2. I took the CI Life Skills Course, "Jesus the Rabbi: Following Him Day by Day" with Jeff Cavins in 2012, 2014, or 2016. Is the School of Discipleship that same course?

The quick answer is "no" and the more detailed answer is: The School of Discipleship is an experience, not a course. If you attended one of the CI courses on Jesus the Rabbi, then you got a sneak peek of the tip of the iceberg and built a good foundation for what awaits you as you now enter into life as a missionary disciple of Jesus Christ.

3. I didn't take the CI Life Skills Course, "Jesus the Rabbi: Following Him Day by Day." Am I going to be lost in the CI: School of Discipleship?

The quick answer is "no" and the more detailed answer is: The School of Disciple starts from the standpoint of "you are interested in following Christ" and now we are going to show you how to do that on a daily basis.

4. I understand Jeff Cavins is teaching the School of Discipleship. I've been through all of his video offerings. Is this a repeat of any of that material?

The quick answer is "no" and the more detailed answer is: The material in the School of Discipleship is the result of Jeff's realization that we need to go beyond learning and to put what we have learned into practice. This will be a journey with a special emphasis on creating the life of a disciple. In addition to Jeff's teaching, Fr. Mike Schmitz will teach an evening.

5. When and where is the School of Discipleship being held and what is the cost?

The quick answer is 8 Thursday evenings from Oct. 11 to Dec. 13, 2018 (7 PM - 8:30 PM) at Good Shepherd Church in Golden Valley. For more details visit The Experience
